Join our mission-driven primary care team dedicated to serving America's Veterans as the Medical Director of Primary Care at the Aberdeen VA Clinic. In this outpatient leadership position, you will integrate clinical practice with medical oversight, influencing the delivery of care for those who have served our nation.

What Makes This Opportunity Unique

  • Combination of Leadership and Clinical Practice: Act as both a practicing primary care physician and the Medical Director for the primary care department.

  • Consistent Work Schedule: Enjoy a Monday to Friday routine from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no night shifts or on-call duties, and minimal weekend responsibilities.

  • Outpatient Focus: Work in a community-based clinic setting with robust nursing and administrative support.

  • Make a Difference: Enhance quality, accessibility, and patient satisfaction for a group of Veterans and the healthcare professionals who serve them.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct primary care to a designated panel of adult patients, focusing on chronic disease management, preventive care, and acute visits.

  • Act as the physician leader for primary care, managing clinical standards, workflows, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Guide and mentor physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other team members within the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) framework.

  • Work alongside administrative and nursing leaders to enhance access, panel management, population health, and the Veteran experience.

  • Engage in performance improvement, credentialing, and policy implementation at the clinic level.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.

  • Proven experience in primary care, preferably with previous leadership, chief, or lead physician roles.

  • Excellent communication abilities with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

  • Commitment to Veteran-centered care and a passion for mentoring and coaching fellow clinicians.

  • Eligible for (or currently holding) an active, unrestricted U.S. medical license.
