What is in it for you?

We are looking for a Principal Engineer who has grown through hands-on engineering experience— someone who still codes, actively debugs production issues, and thrives on solving complex technical challenges. This role will serve as the technical anchor for a high-impact healthcare AI engagement, working closely with a deeply hands-on client engineering leadership team.

You will be responsible for defining technical direction, making key build-vs-buy decisions, establishing engineering standards, and contributing directly alongside the team — not operating above it. Over time, you will become the go-to technical leader for mid and junior level engineers.

Responsibilities: -

• End-to-end technical ownership of a healthcare AI platform built on GCP — from system design through production deployment
• Hands-on delivery — you write code, review code, and set the standard for what good looks like on this engagement
• R&D leadership — evaluate and prototype AI/ML applicability to clinical workflows; separate signal from noise on what is worth building
• Architecture decisions — microservices design, data flow, API contracts, cloud infrastructure, and integration patterns across the stack
• Technical coaching — onshore team primarily, with potential offshore coordination; lead by doing, not by directing
• Client partnership — serve as the technical face of the engagement; translate between engineering reality and clinical/business need with credibility on both sides

• 10+ Years

Location: -

• Nashville, TN (Preferred) or Remote (willing to travel periodically to client locations across the US)

Educational Qualifications: -

• Engineering Degree – BE/ME/BTech/MTech/BSc/MSc.
• Technical certification in multiple technologies is desirable.

Who You Are

• 10 to 18 years of software engineering experience, with the last several at principal, staff, or senior lead level
• Built and shipped Python and Java on GCP — from design through production
• Worked with GKE for containerized deployments — you manage your own workloads
• Integrated event-driven data flows using Kafka or Pub/Sub for real-time clinical data
• Wrote clean, testable, production-grade code — unit, integration, and contract tested
• You have built systems from the ground up — not inherited and maintained them
• You are comfortable owning architecture for distributed microservices platform on GCP.
• You are still hands-on by choice — architecture without implementation feels incomplete to you
• You have worked in or adjacent to regulated industries — healthcare, fintech, or government
• Collaborate directly with client stakeholders to understand clinical workflows and translate them into technical solutions
• You have a track record of making mid and junior engineers better — not by managing them but by working alongside them at a standard worth following
• EST or CST home base strongly preferred.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $170,000 to $220,000 annually (open to discuss higher comp for exceptional talent). We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and other benefits
