Underwriting Specialist - Multinational

Zurich is currently looking for an experienced Underwriter or Underwriting Specialist - Multinational to join our team in the New York office! While this position will be based out New York, you will have the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis being in office 3 days a week. You will partner with your manager to set a flexible work schedule that supports you, our customers, and our brokers and agents. As a member of Zurich's Underwriting Team, you will enjoy the opportunity to fully apply and hone your underwriting and marketing skills. Specifically, you will underwrite and analyze new and renewal Multinational Casualty accounts. This is a market facing position and you will be expected to be visible in the marketplace 25% of the time. This role will be filled at either an Underwriter or Underwriting Specialist level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skillset relative to the qualifications listed for this position. Responsibilities Underwriting, analyzing, and generating new and renewal business Market facing and production within the Middle Market Multinational division Administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manual rules Developing and maintaining agency and broker relationships in the East Region Working within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments Underwriter - Multinational Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines Underwriting Specialist – Multinational Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area Knowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business Experience with Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Multinational experience Strong verbal and written communication skills Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. The proposed salary range for the Underwriter is $59,900.00 - $98,200.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%. The proposed salary range for the Underwriting Specialist is $75,800.00 - $124,100.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
