Associate Attorney

Our client, a commercial litigation law firm with offices across the West Coast, is looking for a skilled attorney to join their team. This role centers on insurance-related disputes, with an emphasis on representing clients on complex legal matters in pre-litigation, litigation, trial and appellate stages.

Responsibilities:

• Manage various litigation matters from initial assessment through resolution in state and federal courts.

• Draft motions, briefs, and other legal filings that support case strategy and advance client objectives.

• Conduct and defend depositions while developing factual records through written discovery and document review.

• Coordinate day-to-day case activity, including deadlines, pleadings, status evaluations, and communication with clients and opposing counsel.

• Assist with trial preparation and strategy.

• Represent insurers in disputes involving coverage issues, including claims tied to automobile and property losses and related bad faith allegations.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in CA.

• At least 2 years of litigation experience. Experience in insurance coverage litigation is a plus, but not required.

• Strong writing skills

• Experience managing discovery, including written responses, document analysis, and deposition preparation.

• Working knowledge of litigation procedure in state and federal courts.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
