Apache Systems EngineerWork Location: Huntsville, AlabamaSchedule: Full Time- 40 hours per week; 8 hours per day in office (remote work is not authorized)Relocation: NegotiableIronMountain Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide technical advice and assistance to International Apache and the Attack Helicopter Project Office (AHPO). This position will be located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. An ideal candidate for this position must be able to work independently, often acting without direct supervision, be self-motivated, and able to build strong relationships across multiple project offices with all levels of government employees.Education and General Experience:An undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline (software, mechanical, electrical, etc.) with at least ten (10) years of experience in Systems Engineering and Rotary-Wing Aviation platform integration activities, testing background strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal skills are a must to facilitate coordination with configuration management, contracts, outside contractors/vendors, engineers, project/program leadership and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) partners.Minimum Requirements:Knowledge of contract requirements and documents (e.g.: Statements of Work, Integrated Master Schedules) is requiredExperience working with Army Aviation airworthiness is requiredAbility to manage development and engineering projects; work effectively with others and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to identify, develop and maintain system component requirementsFrequent interactions with stakeholders (requirements community, aviation platform offices, test support) and support to programmatic leadership (developing technical plans, technical cost estimates, support budget planning, answering taskers).The individual must demonstrate the character and temperament to work within the Government/contractor program office team, external stakeholders, and industry partners, to facilitate platform integration requirements and resolve associated functional and performance issues.The candidate should have experience performing technical oversight within the DoD systems acquisition and contracting process, from development to operational testing and production.Understands requirement generation and subsequent validation/verification.Expert-level understanding of core systems engineering and analysis disciplines and processes.Experience with lifecycle readiness from System Requirements Review through system decommissioning.Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment.Strong oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to brief programmatically, strategically, and technically to senior leadership.Customer focused and capable of representing the customer in community forums.Job Duties:Serve as a Systems Engineer for the AH-64D/E aircraft for International ApacheSupport the project leads to manage airworthiness and Military Type Certificate status and data for FMS customer airworthiness needsCollaborate with the aircraft Prime Contractors' program and technical leads and other personnel to ensure the integration technical work tasks are identified, defined, scheduled, resourced and executedCoordinate technical positions with Government airworthiness and test evaluation organizations to define and measure the program path to secure airworthiness qualification and safety confirmation of changed and new configurationsWork with the Systems Readiness Directorate (SRD) on airworthiness requirements to include the development of the Airworthiness Qualification Plan (AQP)/Airworthiness Qualification Specification (AQS), writing Airworthiness Impact Statements (AWIS) and obtaining Airworthiness Release (AWR). Where applicable, manage the Software Aviation Safety Integrity Levels (ASIL) burn-down and impacts to the AWR.Perform systems engineering role of tracing system spec AQP/AQS requirements to Test Plans and Test Reports to ensure performance specification complianceSupport LRU, software integration, and VAL/VER efforts for the Apache platformProvide technical expertise in the development of contract requirements packages for production and sustainment contracts to include statement of work and CDRLs.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership.
