Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult outpatient thoracic surgery patients, including preoperative assessment and postoperative monitoring
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, wound care, and drain care per physician orders
- Monitor patient status, document in electronic medical record, and communicate changes to the care team
- Prepare patients and environments for procedures; assist during procedures as needed; ensure safe discharge planning with patient education
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiology, nurses, and ancillary staff to optimize patient flow and outcomes
- Adhere to AHA BLS guidelines and institutional policies; participate in quality improvement efforts as directed

Requirements
- Active registered nurse license (Georgia or compact license as applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in thoracic surgery - outpatient setting
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient environment and handle surgical post-op care
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work in Georgia locations with possible travel between sites
