Job Details Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Location: Columbus, Ohio Start Date: 11/2/2026 End Date: 2/1/2027 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM Hours per Week: 36 Patient Ratio: 1:4 Orientation: 36 hours Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040 Weekend Coverage: Required Floating: May be required to float within equivalent or lower acuity units as needed Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required BLS and ACLS certification required Strong telemetry nursing experience required Experience with EPIC required Skills in IV starts, central line care and management, peripheral line care and management, dysrhythmia interpretation, heparin protocols, and insulin drip management Comfortable caring for patients receiving cardiac drips, high-flow nasal cannula, and other progressive care interventions Ability to thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leadership role Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of medical and cardiac conditions Monitor telemetry and assess patients for changes in condition, including dysrhythmias and hemodynamic instability Manage progressive care therapies such as cardiac drips, heparin infusions, insulin protocols, and high-flow oxygen support Perform IV starts, maintain peripheral and central lines, and support safe medication administration Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners including respiratory therapy, IV services, radiology, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams Float to lower or equivalent acuity units within the organization as needed Deliver patient-centered care while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and strong communication in a busy clinical setting Apply now to join this Columbus, Ohio PCU travel nurse position and advance your healthcare career today.
