Internal Medicine Physician – Contract Opportunity

Northern Navajo Medical Center is seeking experienced Internal Medicine Physicians for outpatient-only or mixed (outpatient + inpatient) roles to support the Indian Health Service mission.

Outpatient duties include:

• Patient evaluation for primary & urgent care
• Panel management for continuity of care
• 5–7 patients per half-day on average
• Participation in conferences, CME, and PI efforts
• Optional: ECGs, treadmill tests, consults

Inpatient duties include:

• Full care of hospitalized patients (admit/discharge/rounding)
• ICU coverage: ventilators, vasopressors
• Bedside procedures (paracentesis, central lines, etc.)
• Census: 5–14 inpatients, 1–5 admits per shift

Work schedule:

• Outpatient-only: M–F, 8-hour shifts (~40 hrs/week)
• Mixed role: 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts + night/weekend call (~40–50 hrs/week)
• Overtime: As needed, paid at regular rate

Qualifications:

• 36 months physician experience (12+ months in Internal Med)
• ICU experience preferred for inpatient
• US Citizenship required
• BLS & ACLS certifications mandatory
• Active medical license & driver's license (if required)

Location: Northern Navajo Medical Center, Shiprock, NM

Bill Rate: $270/hr (flexible) Estimated Start Date: November 2025 Contract Type: Non-Personal Services (Federal)
