Security Officer Requisition ID#: 4331 Location: Waterloo, NY 13165 Property: Del Lago Resort & Casino Pay Range: $26.19 - $29.10 per hour Job Summary The Security Officer is responsible for positively impacting the safety and security of the company assets, including guests and team members, while maintaining guest satisfaction and supporting the casino core values. The position demonstrates excitement and provides world‑class service by delivering Old‑World Hospitality and Charm while enforcing the Responsible Gaming Plan and adherence to Internal Control Procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Attend daily briefings and meetings, arriving on time and participating positively. Ensure smooth operation of the Security Department by following prescribed policies and procedures, and enforcing the Responsible Gaming Plan and Internal Control Policies. Write reports clearly and concisely, including only factual information. Respond to all non‑routine incidents, taking appropriate action and making proper notifications. Perform currency transports in accordance with casino procedures. Maintain a professional appearance. Communicate with other security personnel via two‑way radios using established 10‑codes. Resolve customer complaints quickly, fairly, and consistently. Safeguard property assets. Provide first aid, including CPR administration. Adhere to all aspects of the Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) Program and related regulations. Ensure integrity of gambling, banking, count room, and cash handling procedures. Handle confidential information, reports, and incidents securely. Communicate within the department to share information with team members. Inform senior management of information necessary for efficient casino operation. Deliver Old‑World Hospitality and excite guests while living the company core values. Conduct oneself in a gracious, kind, and warm manner that reflects positively on the company. Perform other duties as assigned by the department and/or company management. Required Skills and Abilities Regularly walk and work on feet throughout shifts; must talk and hear clearly. Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Be flexible to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. Be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations; able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs. Perform tasks that require pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, stacking, crouching, kneeling, and balancing in various work areas such as confined spaces. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Formal security or law enforcement training, schooling, or certification is required; related on‑the‑job experience may be considered in lieu of formal training. Previous security, military, or civilian police officer training and/or experience required. Must read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, instructions, and correspondence; author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, staff, guests, and the public. Maintain confidentiality of information. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Attend required training sessions offered by the casino. Maintain a current certificate of completion for the New York State Division of Criminal Justice (DCJS) 8‑Hour Pre‑Assignment Training. Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations. Prevent minors from gambling, loitering in gambling areas, drinking alcohol, or purchasing tobacco. Know ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the department. Know property programs addressing problem gambling. Consult with appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and internal controls. Investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations, reporting to appropriate levels of management. Report any acts of wrongdoing by team members.
