Role Description The Correctional Officer is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Jacksonville, FL. This position involves maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities, supervising inmates, enforcing rules, and responding to emergencies as needed. Correctional Officers ensure compliance with all regulations, conduct routine inspections, and assist with inmate rehabilitation efforts where applicable, promoting a secure and orderly environment. Qualifications Supervisory Skills: Ability to manage individuals and ensure compliance with established rules and procedures in a correctional environment. Criminal Justice: Understanding of criminal justice processes, correctional laws, and protocols. Physical Security: Knowledge of security operations, monitoring, and emergency preparedness to maintain a safe facility. Training: Experience in providing or undergoing relevant training to perform correctional duties effectively. Law Enforcement: Familiarity with law enforcement practices and maintaining order in high‑security environments. Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in criminal justice or a related field is a plus. Physical fitness and the ability to perform duties requiring physical exertion.
