This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional who combines strong technical knowledge with proven experience managing projects, multidisciplinary teams, client relationships, budgets, schedules, and successful project delivery.The organization specializes in high-performance, energy-efficient building systems and provides multidisciplinary engineering services across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, sustainability, and commissioning.Key ResponsibilitiesLead engineering projects from initiation through successful deliveryManage project scope, schedules, budgets, quality standards, and contractual requirementsPlan, organize, and coordinate activities across multiple concurrent projects and project teamsDevelop project task lists, scopes of work, schedules, and task-level budgetsAssign project responsibilities and provide ongoing direction and guidance to team membersMonitor project performance to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and budgetMaintain accountability for the accuracy and quality of technical work delivered to clientsCoordinate effectively with external subconsultants and clearly define project responsibilitiesServe as a primary client-facing representative and maintain strong professional relationships throughout and following project completionParticipate in proposal development, client presentations, and preparation of contractual agreementsIdentify potential scope changes and ensure appropriate client authorization is obtained before additional services are performedReview project invoices and support appropriate follow-up related to outstanding client accountsMentor and support the technical development of project team membersPromote strong communication and collaboration across engineering disciplinesContribute to the continued development and application of engineering design and production standardsSupport successful project financial performance and profitabilityQualificationsProgressive experience in engineering design and/or engineering project managementProven experience managing engineering projects from initiation through deliveryStrong understanding of project scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client expectationsAbility to manage multiple projects and project teams simultaneouslyExperience within an engineering consulting, architectural engineering, MEP, building systems, or closely related professional-services environment strongly preferredBachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical education preferredProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not requiredStrong client-facing communication, leadership, planning, decision-making, teamwork, and problem-solving skillsWorking knowledge of applicable engineering and building codesExperience with CAD and/or Autodesk Revit preferredFamiliarity with applicable engineering design and load-calculation software is a plusAbility to provide technical oversight and maintain high standards for project accuracy and qualityTechnical BackgroundCandidates may come from either a Mechanical or Electrical engineering background.Mechanical candidates may bring experience with systems such as:HVACPlumbingFire protectionHeating and ventilationAir conditioningTemperature controlsElectrical candidates may bring experience with systems such as:Electrical distributionLighting systemsSpecialty electrical systemsIdeal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate is a technically credible project leader who understands both project delivery and the business side of engineering consulting.
