Warehouse Operator

This role involves operating push-button press machines to produce metal parts in a high-volume production environment. You will work on-site in Franklin, TN on a Monday through Thursday day shift schedule, loading sheet metal into brand-new press machines, stamping parts, and performing quality inspections. This position offers hands-on manufacturing experience and the opportunity to grow within a large, long-term production operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate push-button press machines to stamp metal parts from blank sheets of metal according to production requirements.
• Load blank sheet metal into the press machine safely and accurately before each press cycle.
• Press the machine controls to initiate the stamping process while following all safety and operational procedures.
• Remove stamped metal parts from the press machine and handle them carefully to avoid damage.
• Inspect stamped parts visually and/or using basic inspection tools to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Identify defects or irregularities in parts and follow established procedures to address quality issues.
• Stack inspected and approved parts neatly and securely on pallets for further processing or shipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around the press machines and production line.
• Follow production schedules and meet daily output targets while maintaining consistent quality.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members about production status, issues with machines, or material needs.
• Adhere to all safety policies, including proper use of equipment and compliance with plant procedures.
• Support general production and manufacturing tasks as needed to keep the operation running smoothly.

Essential Skills

• Experience or strong interest in working as a machine operator in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate press machines, including push-button controls.
• Basic understanding of production processes, including loading materials, running equipment, and handling finished parts.
• Ability to perform basic inspection of metal parts for quality, including visual checks and identifying obvious defects.
• Comfort working with sheet metal and operating around industrial machinery in a plant environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks such as loading, pressing, inspecting, and stacking materials.
• Reliability to work on-site Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Willingness to complete required pre-employment screening, including interview, drug screening.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in production, manufacturing, or machine operation is beneficial.
• Prior exposure to punch press or press operator roles is an advantage.
• Familiarity with sheet metal handling and stacking materials on pallets is helpful.
• Comfort working in a high-volume, long-term production project environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent quality.
• Interest in building a long-term career in manufacturing with opportunities for advancement.

Work Environment

The role is based in a production plant in Franklin, TN, working as a press operator on a long-term project expected to last 5 or more years. You will work on-site daily, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on a day shift schedule. The facility uses brand-new press machines and supports a high-volume manufacturing operation focused on sheet metal and stamped parts. The environment is industrial and production-focused, with a strong emphasis on safety, consistent output, and teamwork.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
