Summary: Responsible for the day to day operation and direct supervision of all activities within the Accounting department. Ensure daily operations and experiences meet guest expectations. Appropriately respond to and manage any escalated departmental concerns and guest and/or employee challenges.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Hire, train, develop, measure performance, discipline, and schedule department staff
• Lead the tactical execution of strategic initiatives under the direction of division leadership
• Establish standards of service within assigned department(s) and ensure achievement
• Monitor and control labor within the department while maintaining adequate coverage in the department based on business demands
• Reviews journal entries affecting the general ledger
• Reviews reports for accuracy
• Prepare and posts monthly journal entries to create financial statements.
• Responsible for making sure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled each month.
• Reconciles balance sheets for assigned accounts.
• Provide outstanding customer service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members
• Performs other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• College degree in Business (AA degree) with emphasis on Accounting or the equivalent
• Prior controller experience, with at least five (5) years of experience in gaming and accounting
• Knowledge of accounting practices including general ledger, audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and casino accounting
• Knowledge of Gaming and National Indian Gaming Controls and Procedures.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Great Plains, SDS, LMS, CMP, XpertX, Fortunet and Infogenesis preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
• Verify right to work in the United States
• Work Cards: Gaming, Physical

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently required to walk, stand and sit for long periods
• Use hands to hold tools and/or equipment required for position
• Reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and push up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment Potential Conditions:

The work environment is characterized as an office setting, where computers and standard office equipment will be supplied and used as a part of the job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The immediate work environment is smoke free; however a smoking environment does exist in the building.
