Senior Full Stack Engineer

We’re hiring on behalf of an early-stage technology company building advanced data products for teams working with machine learning systems. This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys owning product features end to end, working closely with research teams, and building scalable systems that help customers better understand complex datasets.

The role is backend-leaning, with roughly 60–70% of the work focused on backend development, while still contributing across the full stack. You’ll help design and deliver new product capabilities, improve large-scale data processing workflows, and contribute to the technical direction of a growing engineering team.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead full-stack product development, with a strong emphasis on backend systems.
• Build and scale platforms that process large volumes of unstructured data and surface useful insights to customers.
• Work closely with machine learning and research teams to improve how data is collected, processed, evaluated, and used.
• Implement and assess AI-enabled and signal-processing-based approaches to improve product capabilities.
• Collaborate with customers, researchers, and engineers to translate complex requirements into usable product features.
• Mentor other engineers and help establish technical standards as the team scales.

What we’re looking for

• 4+ years of experience in backend-leaning full-stack engineering.
• Experience building production-grade user-facing products.
• Strong proficiency with Python and TypeScript.
• Experience working with large-scale data processing systems.
• Exposure to AI/ML, audio, speech, signal processing, or complex data workflows.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in a fast-moving startup or high-growth product environment.

Nice to have

• Staff-level engineering experience, typically 6+ years.
• Technical leadership, mentoring, or engineering management experience.
• Experience working in VC-backed or early-stage startup environments.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Location

This is an on-site role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with an expectation of regular in-office collaboration.
