This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence.HDR is looking for a Site Civil Engineer with the technical skills and desire to help support our nationally recognized Building Engineering Services Group in North Carolina. In the role of Site Civil Engineer, we'll count on you to: Design and plan production for general site civil on a wide variety of projects, including site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading, storm drainage analysis and design (conveyance systems, water quality and quantity BMPs), paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activities.Perform quantity calculations and complete associated calculation reports.Prepare specifications and contract documentsPerform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and proceduresMake decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as neededFunction as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this position.Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed.Perform site due diligence, including zoning and permitting requirements for local and state agencies.Manage project and permitting coordination with local and state agencies.Coordinate site design with clients, local and state agencies, and project team (project managers, engineers, designers, etc). Work in a team environment.Perform other duties as needed.Preferred Qualifications5 years of experience in general site civil engineeringFamiliar with OpenRoads softwareProficient and demonstrated applied experience with CAD civil engineering software such as Autodesk Civil 3D; specialty civil platforms (e.g., HydroCAD, Autodesk Hydraflow Extensions, etc.) as requiredLocal candidates are preferred*LI-SM1QualificationsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree Previous experience in general civil engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license.
