Assistant Professor Position

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at assistant professor level, with a start date of August 1, 2027. Candidates in all areas of mathematics will be considered.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University is home to a vibrant faculty of more than 50 members, whose expertise spans a broad range of disciplines in mathematics and statistics. Auburn University's strong research programs in a variety of areas present many opportunities for interdisciplinary research and for participation in its various multidisciplinary programs. Auburn University is an R1 University and one of the nation's premier land, sea, and space grant institutions. It maintains high levels of research activity and high standards for teaching excellence.

Successful candidates are expected to pursue independent research and teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

An earned doctorate in mathematics or related field by the start date of the appointment and postdoctoral research experience are required. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English and possess excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
