Dental Hygiene Instructor/Assistant Professor

About the Position Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Dental Hygiene Instructor/Professor position. The faculty teach assigned courses in a manner that facilitates student learning and mastery of course material. Faculty also participate in course and curriculum development, program and course assessment, student advisement, college service and professional development. Responsibilities Teach assigned courses, facilitating student learning and mastery of course material. Participate in course and curriculum development and program/course assessment. Provide student advisement and contribute to college service and professional development. Qualifications & Credentials Master's degree from an accredited institution in Dental Hygiene (or a bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene). Minimum of three years' full-time experience in dental hygiene clinical practice. Minimum of two years teaching experience at the collegiate level (Community College teaching experience preferred). Active Commonwealth of PA Dental Hygiene license. Certification in local anesthesia or eligibility to obtain it. Graduate of a dental hygiene program accredited by CODA. Commitment to innovative instructional techniques, use of course management systems, and a variety of teaching activities to address diverse learning styles. Commitment to incorporating information literacy resources, technology, research, writing, and culturally diverse perspectives into the curriculum. Knowledge of competency-based education is preferred. Commitment to continual assessment of the teaching-learning process. Commitment to working with diverse populations, such as under-resourced groups and first-generation students. Understanding and commitment to a comprehensive community college philosophy. Organizational and communication skills in a team environment. Optional Preferences Current membership in the American Dental Hygienist's Association.
