Title: Forklift Technician

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Job Summary: Inspect, diagnose, and repair various types of material handling equipment. This equipment includes walkie-riders, forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and rack transportation devices. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system issues on forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and performance tests.
• Identify worn or defective parts; repair or replace components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and lift systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and adjustments to meet operational requirements.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, supervisors, and parts departments to coordinate timely repairs.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational certification in industrial maintenance or automotive technology preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience as a forklift, heavy equipment, diesel, or automotive technician.
• Experience servicing brands such as Raymond, Toyota, Hyster, and Crown is a plus.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.

Essential and Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in confined or tight spaces.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in various conditions (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold).
• Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
