Parts Counter Clerk

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Overtime as needed)


A leading manufacturer of prefabricated building systems, specializing in electrical substation control buildings and communication shelters, is seeking an experienced Parts Counter Clerk to support plant operations. This role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, assisting multiple departments, organizing parts and supplies, and helping improve production efficiency while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and organized working environment by following all company safety guidelines
• Assist production departments by pulling, organizing, and distributing parts, tools, and supplies
• Support the Stores Department with:
  • Inventory management
  • Data entry
  • Receiving and organizing materials
  • Maintaining accurate records
• Receive and process incoming deliveries, including entering purchase orders into Fishbowl inventory software
• Assist drivers and vendors with deliveries and pickups by directing them to the appropriate areas
• Maintain organized storage areas and ensure parts are properly labeled and accessible
• Issue replacement PPE, tools, and parts while maintaining accurate tracking logs
• Inspect maintenance checklists for equipment such as forklifts and cranes and report needed repairs, fuel needs, or replacements
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including general cleanup and housekeeping tasks

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, stretching, and standing for extended periods
• Previous warehouse, parts counter, inventory, or material handling experience preferred
• Forklift experience preferred
• Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and industrial supplies (including electrical, welding, plumbing, carpentry, and concrete materials)
• Experience with:
  • Data entry
  • Inventory systems
  • Microsoft Office
  • RFID scanners or receiving software
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Ability to work with multiple departments and assist wherever needed
• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, when required

Physical Requirements:

• Must wear required PPE, including steel-toe or EH composite-toe shoes
• Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing/plant environment
• Must be able to safely lift and move materials throughout the facility
