Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel We're looking for a Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist (Peds-RRT) for an immediate travel position opening in Plymouth, MA. The right Peds-RRT must have 1 year of recent acute care experience. Read below for additional requirements. Responsibilities As a Peds-RRT, you will provide direct patient care to patients in a variety of clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines. Administer a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities to patients. Maintain appropriate patient records/documentation. Cleans, disinfects, assembles, calibrates, and maintains respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories. Evaluates equipment for proper and safe function. Reports malfunctions to director. Performs arterial puncture and analyzes sample according to procedure guidelines. Interacts with co-workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patients being treated. Responds to emergent situations that could require Respiratory support. Peds-RRTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty. They should be able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times. Peds-RRTs must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must have 1 year of experience. Must have NBRC-RRT, BLS, and ACLS. PALS and NRP may be required in some areas. Requirements BLS PALS NBRC NRP 2 Years Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
