This is an ESOP company, so you’d be a “player-owned”! Duties Senior Chemist level individual who is an independent contributor for wood coatings with 10+ years of experience. The chemistries focus on waterborne and solventborne with some UV-curable opportunities. This position will primarily involve developing new products, learning and maintaining our existing product lines and software, mentoring other staff members, and collaborating with other departments. This position reports directly to the Technical Director. A strong formulations chemist with experience taking products through manufacturing, assisting in plant support. Have an in-depth understanding of the differences in products and applications. Must have a complete understanding of application equipment. Must have a complete understanding of coating systems. Should have ability to formulate colors (color test to be administered) Have a familiarity with solvents & additives and their correlations in coatings. Have knowledge with testing parameters, KCMA, AWI, ASTM etc… Be able to communicate between departments and remain objective.
