Drawline Machine Operator

A drawline operator is an integral position in our Coil Spring Wire business unit. A drawline operator prepares a large strand of coil to go through the machine, loads it into the machine, ensures that it runs through smoothly and finally takes it out of the machine as it is now ready to be prepared for the next step. Computers are utilized in running the machine and programing it correctly.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Very physically demanding work • Use of a crane • Use of a forklift • Self Sufficiency • Use of technology • Mechanically inclined decision making • Working off-shift • On feet for extended amount of time • Paperwork

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and understand job documentation • Physical coordination to lift and move product • Trainable with fork lift truck • Ability to handle multiple tasks • Written and oral communication skills with attention to detail • Math ability, including conversions (English & Metric units) • Ability to read, use and understand measuring devices • Ability to understand machine computer functions • Trainable with CNC, PLC controls and SPC documentation • Ability to load material, perform changeovers, make needed adjustments during production and/or tooling changes
