Job Description
The Registered Dental Hygienist plays a vital role in promoting oral health by providing preventive dental care and educating patients. This position involves patient screening, performing dental cleanings, and supporting dentists in creating effective treatment plans while ensuring exceptional infection control practices.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient screenings and assess oral health status
- Perform dental cleanings and periodontal therapy
- Operate dental X-ray equipment safely and accurately
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care
- Maintain accurate dental records and charting
- Ensure strict infection control and instrument sterilization
- Communicate effectively with patients to address concerns
- Collaborate closely with dentists to develop treatment plans
Required Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in dental hygiene
- Proficiency in dental radiography
- Knowledge of periodontal therapy techniques
- Experience with patient education on oral health
- Strong infection control practices
- Skilled in dental charting and record keeping
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong time management abilities
