Job Summary and Qualifications

Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. Working closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team, you will evaluate needs, develop individualized care plans, and provide hands-on treatment that supports recovery through every stage of healing. Your role will include:

• Evaluating each patient's functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
• Delivering skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care.
• Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes.
• Educating patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
• Leading by exampleproviding guidance to therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare's mission, values, and commitment to excellence.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

As the Occupational Therapist, you will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate evaluation and care for patient populations served in his/her department.

What you will do in this role:

• You will demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.
• You will demonstrate knowledge to assess and adjust care in coordination with the health care team across the continuum
• You will assess patients/ families ability to learn and incorporate teaching throughout hospitalization and in preparation for discharge
• You will deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients

What qualifications you will need:

• State of Tennessee Occupational Therapist license required
• Must be a graduate of an accredited OT program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current
