Compassionate Hospice RN - Full-Time Home Care

We are currently seeking a compassionate Hospice Nurse (RN) to join our well-respected team in the Waterloo office.Cedar Valley Hospice is the premier hospice agency serving 15 counties with offices in Waterloo, Grundy Center, Independence, and Waverly. Our mission exemplifies the organizations focus on providing the best care possible for patients at home or wherever they reside.Job Schedule:Full Time (1.0 FTE)Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm, 40 hours per weekThis position requires an average of 2-3 weekends per year and 1-2 weeknights per month of on-call coverage. Public service loan forgiveness (PSLF) eligible employer.ResponsibilitiesProvide ongoing assessment of the physical, emotional, and mental statuses of patients/families.Provide direct nursing care in compliance with physician’s orders to assigned patients/families.Monitor patients for changes in condition and updates medication list and plan of care to reflect changes.Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and participate in developing and updating the patients’ plans of care.QualificationsRequiredCurrent Iowa state RN license.Positive attitude and team player.Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.Basic computer skills with the ability to learn work-related software and have basic typing skills.Current Iowa driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and car insurance.PreferredBachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).2 years of recent experience as a nurse in a related field.1 year of experience in hospice or home care nursing.Experience working in a team environment.Physical/Other RequirementsAbility to move 50lbs with our without accommodation.In an 8-hour day, employee may remain in a stationary position 1-5 hours and move about inside CVH site offices/locations, meeting spaces, patient residences, and healthcare facility locations 3-7 hours (or vice versa).Pre-employment/post-offer physical, TB, and drug screen required.If you are ready to make a positive difference in the lives of families and work passionately for an award-winning employer, apply today!
