Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in Lynchburg, Virginia. This position involves providing direct patient care to cardiac step-down patients operating on a night shift schedule. The role offers opportunities for float responsibilities depending on clinical needs, with an emphasis on supporting a collaborative and educational environment.

Job Details

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid license, active VA or Compact license required upon start, CPR certification, at least 2 years of travel experience in a similar setting, familiarity with Cerner electronic health records, and experience with cardiac patient population
• Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of vital signs machinery, glucometers, sequential compression devices (SCDs), bladder scanners, vein finders, remote telemetry, wound vacs, IV pumps, pulse oximeters, chest tubes, tube feeding pumps (Kangaroo), and oxygen delivery devices
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per day, at least 36 hours weekly
• Additional Information: Orientation starts on 07/27/2026 and 08/10/2026, held every other Monday. Credentialing must be completed one week prior to start date. No local travelers under 60 miles will be accepted. Client reserves the right to cancel assignments up to 36 hours in advance due to census fluctuations. The facility is a teaching hospital, and all team members are encouraged to contribute to a culture of support, especially when interacting with students and new hires.
