Quality Lab Specialist : Rockford , Illinois

Our customer in Rockford, Illinois is seeking a detail-oriented and quality-focused professional to join their team as a Quality Lab Specialist. We're recruiting for a full-time 2nd Shift position supporting quality assurance, inspection, documentation, calibration, and quality system activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

Responsibilities of the  Quality Lab Specialist :

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections on raw materials, in-process products, customer samples, and finished parts.
• Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, thread gages, and optical inspection tools.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and quality standards to verify product compliance.
• Conduct routine production audits and quality checks throughout the facility.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, quality documentation, and traceability logs.
• Support nonconformance investigations, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
• Assist with calibration programs, ISO requirements, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Help train employees on quality standards and inspection procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional quality lab environment.

Quality Lab Specialist   Requirements and Qualifications:

• Experience in fastener, screw, cold heading, cold forming, or precision component manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Strong hands-on inspection experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Familiarity with threaded fasteners, dimensional inspection, gages, and customer-specific requirements.
• Working knowledge of PPAP, APQP, FMEA, control plans, capability studies, corrective actions, or ISO documentation is helpful.
• Experience with gage calibration or gage management is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with production and management teams.
• Comfortable working independently and making quality-related decisions.

Pay for  Quality Lab Specialist : Starting at $22-$25/hour.

Type: 2nd Shift, Full-time

Schedule:

• Training period during the first month will be on 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-5:00pm. 
• After training, the schedule will transition to 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, with hours of either 5:00pm-3:00am or 4:30pm-2:30am.
