Civil Engineer

The Axel Group is seeking a Civil EIT for our client's team in Knoxville, TN. Responsibilities: Support land development projects by assisting with grading, drainage, utility, and roadway design. Conduct feasibility studies for project acquisitions, including concept planning, zoning analysis, and preliminary grading. Assist in preparing civil construction plans for residential subdivisions and multi-family projects to obtain agency permits and approvals. Support project managers with engineering design tasks, technical reports, and construction phase services such as site visits, submittal reviews, RFI responses, and as-built reviews. Prepare hydrology and stormwater management reports to facilitate design and permitting. Develop lot fit exhibits with detailed house plans for single-family developments. Participate in project meetings, agency reviews, and respond to review comments. Stay current with relevant regulations and incorporate innovative design concepts for efficiency and cost savings. Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university. Active E.I.T. registration in the required state, with the ability to obtain a P.E. license. Minimum of 1+ years of engineering experience related to land development projects, with residential experience preferred. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office; experience with ArcGIS is a plus. Ability to work overtime and travel overnight as needed.
