Join us.Job DescriptionThe Surface Water Division of AECOM is actively seeking a Dallas Water Resources Team Lead to drive the growth, technical excellence, and project delivery of our water resources practice across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This hybrid leadership role will be responsible for developing client relationships, leading business development efforts, mentoring technical staff, and overseeing the successful delivery of complex water resources projects. This is a role based in AECOM’s Dallas office, with the possibility of some work being performed remotely.The ideal candidate will be a recognized leader in H&H modeling, floodplain management, stormwater management, and water resources engineering with an established network of local, state, and federal clients in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This individual will serve as a seller/doer who combines technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to expand AECOM’s market presence and deliver innovative solutions to our clients.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:Win work by leading and/or supporting major pursuits.Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with key strategic clients to enhance AECOM’s market presence, secure major opportunities, and support project delivery.Promote a client-focused culture through team leadership.Leads and develops high performing team members and teams. Maximizes engagement and retention, demonstrating embodiment of AECOM’s cultural standards; foster an inclusive environment where staff succeed and fulfill their potential.Active involvement in business and staff development across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and collaboration with other offices within AECOM’s West Region and beyond.Working with regional Water Business Line leadership on local and regional initiatives.Skills & AttributesImpactful with senior business leaders, project teams, and clients.Engages and motivates staff through a clear vision and direction.Communicating with confidence – builds broad and deep external networks, uses a full range of available communication mediums to inspire and engage others.Demonstrates empathy, understanding, and active listening skills, elicits and is receptive to feedback, encourages others to speak up.Passionate about creating and maintaining a diverse and inclusive team and demonstrates behavior aligned with AECOM’s Equity Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) vision.Role models standards and expectations – seeks excellence, communicates frequently and clearly, is strategic, is results-focused, is accountable, makes fact-based decisions, innovates, and collaborates.Experienced in successfully managing complex projects and meeting delivery requirements.Builds high performance teams, is an architect and leader of change, expands capability and capacity, drives flawless execution.Demonstrated commercial acumen, and the ability to develop a strong client base.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field, plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months of work.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.2+ years of leadership experience.5+ years of proven Project Management experience.PMP Certification or comparable project management credentials preferred.Experience or interest in business operations and internal finance.Advanced knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software and GIS platforms, including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS Pro, and related engineering tools.Strong team leader with excellent interpersonal skills who effectively works with and supports team members.Collaborative; shares knowledge, experience, ideas, and expertise for the betterment of the wider group and self.Is diligent and able to work consistently to deadlines under tight time frames.Good understanding of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex market and state agencies, and ability to support marketing efforts in pursuing work.Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to technical audience and public stakeholders.Willingness to participate in professional organizations such as ASCE, TFMA, ASFPM or related industry associations.Additional InformationSponsorship is not available now or in the future for this role.At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
