Civil Engineer

Job Description The H&S Coordinator will work closely with Safety Consultants to achieve and maintain COR status through audits of the Health & Safety Program. Responsibilities include conducting new worker safety orientations, coordinating and delivering weekly talks on various jobsites, and maintaining records. Additional responsibilities: Participate in regular site inspections with Safety Consultants, review findings and arrange for immediate correction of any infractions. Organize all pre‑construction safety activities on new projects, ensuring all requirements are met before work commences; organize third‑party training for all workers and annual startup meetings. Meet with subcontractors to review Safety Program requirements and ensure all paperwork is in order. Report and investigate any accident/injury, assist with WSIB claims and RWT programs, and organize and chair the company’s Joint H&S committee. Manage damage claims, utility strikes and third‑party injuries; investigate and work with management and insurance on reporting and handling of claims. Qualifications Post‑secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a construction environment; familiarity with the COR Safety Program.
