The Town of Breckenridge is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual for the role of Aquatics Coordinator. This position directly oversees the daily operations, programming, maintenance, administration and staffing of the Breckenridge Recreation Center's Aquatics division. This role manages the Aquatics area which includes lap and leisure pools, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, a sauna, a steam room, and locker rooms, by ensuring safety, cleanliness, and compliance with health standards.

Key responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, evaluating and scheduling a team of Aquatics staff members (Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, Water Fitness Instructors, etc.), leading safety trainings and certification courses, and developing engaging aquatics programs that meet community needs. In addition, the Aquatics Coordinator also handles personnel management, budget oversight, guest relations, and risk management within the Aquatics division. The incumbent must possess strong leadership skills, program planning skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a safe and welcoming environment.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Recreation or a related field.
• Two (2) or more years of direct work experience in aquatic operations (This may include experience working with pools, pool maintenance, aquatic programs, etc.).
• Two (2) or more years of direct employee supervision experience required.
• Must be highly proficient with computers and computer software programs, including but not limited to: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Publisher, MS Outlook, and recreation program software (e.g., Active).
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in safety practices is required.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:

• Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR for the professional rescuer, and oxygen delivery for the professional rescuer certifications required within 60 days of hire.
• CPO or AFO certification within six (6) months of hire.
• Preventing disease transmission (PDT) required within 60 days of hire.
• Valid Colorado Driver's license required within one (1) month of employment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Water Safety Instructor (WSI), Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (LGIT), WSI instructor trainer (WSIT), and/or EMT certifications desired.
• Experience with overall emergency response planning and designing/conducting staff trainings and emergency drills.
• Experience designing community aquatic and safety programs desirable.

Additional Information

Hiring Pay Range: $2,440.00 - $2,899.81 bi-weekly, or $63,440 - $75,395 if annualized. Full Pay Range: $2,440.00 - $3,359.62 bi-weekly, or $63,440 - $87,350 if annualized. APPLICATION INFORMATION: Qualified applicants must attached the following with their online application:

WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule for this position is generally Monday - Friday, but may vary dependent upon operational and staffing needs. The individual in this position must be flexible in terms of availability and may be required to work shifts as needed to meet business needs, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
