English Language Development Teacher (ELEVATE/ACE) – Job ID: 7345 Position Type: Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) Date Posted: 4/14/2026 Reports to: Campus Principal Salary: $75,000 for 0-2 years of experience; $79,000 for 3-4 years; $81,000 for 5+ years Duty Days: 212 FLSA Status: Exempt Position Purpose This position serves an Elevate campus and focuses on accelerating language acquisition and academic performance through differentiated, data-driven instruction in a structured environment. Employs innovative teaching methods and personalized instruction to promote academic progress and foster a love of learning. Contributes to the implementation of innovative teaching strategies within the Elevate instructional model. Essential Job Functions Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Prepares lessons that reflect accommodations for individual differences. Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects; communicates these objectives to the students. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the needs of the individuals or student groups involved. Strives to implement, by instruction and action, the district's instructional model, goals, and objectives. Assesses the accomplishments of the students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required. Refers students for evaluation by district specialists as required. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct. Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior. Maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. Makes provisions for being available to the students and to the parents for education-related purposes when required. Maintains and improves professional competence. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees. Maintains a professional relationship with colleagues. Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with students, parents, and community members. Contributes to the school community by attending and supporting extracurricular activities and events. Participates in parent-teacher conferences and other school events to foster a strong home-school partnership. Safety Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of effective interpersonal and communication skills. Skill in maintaining flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment. Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships internally and externally. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other staff members. Ability to use technology proficiently including keyboarding and use of video display terminals. Travel Requirements Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Physical & Mental Demands, Work Hazards Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment such as interactive teaching screens. Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; frequent walking. Lifting: Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); occasionally up to 35 pounds; may lift and move textbooks, classroom tools, and lab equipment; additional requirements may apply in certain classroom/lab settings. Environment: Works inside and occasionally outside; standard classroom/lab school building environment; frequent exposure to noise; frequent talking and listening; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours. Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions. Minimum Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. Certification/License: Valid Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for grade level and/or subject area required. Experience: Teaching experience preferred; Experience working with diverse student populations preferred. Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred in some settings.
