Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide care for patients with intensive symptom management needs at the end of life. This role requires the ability to manage patients with complex needs and support families in crisis. The ideal candidate will possess strong IV and wound care skills, along with excellent assessment capabilities to advocate for patients who may not be able to communicate their needs effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients aged 18 and older with serious medical conditions.
• Assist in intensive symptom management for patients at the end of life.
• Deliver compassionate care and support to families during difficult times.
• Perform astute assessments and advocate for patients' needs.
• Administer patient-controlled analgesia pumps as required.
• Manage general medicine overflow as needed.

Schedule

The position offers 36 or 48-hour rotating shifts, including day, evening, and night shifts. Availability for weekends and holidays may also be required.

Qualifications

• New York State Registered Nurse License.
• Minimum of two years of recent experience in palliative or acute medical-surgical nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification is highly desired.
