Job Title:                       Quality CMS Operator and Programmer

Reports To:                   Quality Manager

Shift: Training of 1st Shift then Trsf to 2nd shift

Work location:               100% Onsite

Summary of Position

The Quality CMS Operator and Programmer is responsible for programming and operating for CMS programming as well as developing, applying, and maintaining quality requirements and standards for development and manufacture of products. Responsible for following and maintaining in the processes and procedures of the internal Coordinate Measuring Systems (Scanner and CMM). Promotes and executes quality values, inspection processes, quality plans, documents and reports. Is fluent in ASME Y14.5(GD&T) and ASME Y14.41 (DPD) to work with CATIA V5 and CMS software (experience with Polyworks, CMM Manager, Verisurf, PC DMS, etc.) required to interrogate models/engineering data in determining product conformance.

Essential Job Responsibilities (MINIMUM):

·         Learn/Operate Laser Scanner to perform optical CMS inspection to create reports that are directly tied into the engineering drawings and or CATIA.

·         Incorporates CMS report data to populate form 3 of First Article inspection.

·         Maintains equipment.

·         Coordinates with quality, engineering and manufacturing on part inspection plans.

·         Coordinate and facilitate training and provide guidance for quality personnel as required.

·         Performs quality tasks to include but not limited to: First Articles, Final Product Review, support production to reduce internal scrap through the utilization of analysis methods.

·         Ability to read, and interpret 2D drawings specific to aerospace.

·         Intimate understanding of AS9100, AS9102 and Boeing D6-51991 standards as well as demonstrate the ability to properly consume these requirements.

·         Fluent in ASME Y14.5, GD&T.

·         Fluent in the use of inspection hand tools, gauges, and surface plate work.

• Responsible for conforming to the company’s quality system procedures as documented as well as maintenance of the QMS.
• Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

Vocational school, equivalent or higher in CAD modeling or related discipline. Technical coursework related to blueprint reading, application of AS9100 in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

4 years of Aerospace Quality Assurance experience required, preferably in a build-to-spec manufacturing environment.

4 years’ experience of CMS programming – Preferred knowledge of Laser Scanner and CMM.

4 years 2D modeling experience preferred (CATIA V5 or SOLIDWORKS)

Experience with Polyworks preferred.

Boeing document knowledge required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Patience with the desire to impart knowledge on others.  

Fluency in ASME Y14.5, GD&T and ASME Y14.41 (DPD)
