Material Handler I - 1st Shift

Material Handler I position in the Storage Control department at a life-science company, based in Grand Island, New York. The role involves receiving, sorting, storing, and shipping products while operating material handling equipment in temperature-controlled environments. First shift, Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Responsibilities

Receive, examine, sort, count, and arrange items for storage or shipment per procedures
Operate material handling equipment including hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts
Work in walk-in cold room (+4°C) and freezer (-20°C) environments
Prepare and file routine documentation and maintain quality metrics
Pick and pack products according to customer requirements

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly without assistance
Comfortable working in cold rooms (-22°F/-6°C) and fluctuating temperatures
Problem-solving and self-motivated work approach
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred: warehouse, distribution, or supply chain experience
Preferred: powered industrial truck operation experience
