Responsibilities Position Summary: The MRI Technologist Assistant works under the supervision of the technologist and manager, to assist in the performance of patient procedures, and performs a variety of technical and non-technical tasks to direct patient care activities. Supports patient care during patient MRI services, adhering to all MRI safety policies and procedures. General Consistently work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow team members. Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all MRI policies and procedures. Consistently demonstrate attention to detail in documentation of patient information. Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notify technologists and/or managers. Specific Duties Greet and prepare patients for MRI exams. Explain procedure and screen patient prior to starting exam. Escort patients to and from changing area. Great communication skills between MRI team and patients. Change linen and clean MRI suite between patients. Assist MRI Technologist with exam as needed. Access PACS system and import/export CDs. Maintain patient care and cleaning supplies, including but not limited to exam linens, gloves, disinfecting wipes, pillowcases/covers, etc. Adhere to appropriate safety zones while navigating patients through the suite. Additional Duties Log patient information Communicate with scheduling team to ensure cohesive workflow Answer phones within department as needed Learn components of EHR system for printing appointment lists and viewing scheduled patients, and chart notes. Adaptability to departmental duties as assigned. Qualifications Education/Experience Required: High School Diploma BLS certification Currently enrolled in advanced imaging program and/or working toward obtaining ARRT certification for MR. Previous health care and patient care experience preferred. Physical Requirements: Physical requirements for the position include the ability to frequently hear and communicate verbally, see up close and at a distance, read and comprehend, stand, sit, walk, reach, handle, and/or feel objects.
