Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

PRN | As Needed

We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and patient-focused Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis.

Under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will provide skilled therapeutic services to help residents achieve their functional goals, improve mobility and independence, and enhance their overall quality of life.

This position is ideal for a licensed PTA who values quality patient care, teamwork, accurate documentation, and positive resident outcomes .

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled therapeutic treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.

• Carry out individualized treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and established care plans.

• Monitor resident response to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising therapist.

• Accurately and timely document treatments, resident progress, and daily charges.

• Maintain established productivity, documentation, and quality standards.

• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care conferences, utilization reviews, and care planning activities as assigned.

• Educate residents, families, and nursing staff regarding restorative programs, home exercise programs, and therapeutic activities as directed.

• Maintain clean, safe, and organized therapy areas and equipment.

• Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.

• Participate in facility performance improvement and quality initiatives.

• Travel or float between facilities as assigned based on resident and operational needs.

• Maintain compliance with Medicare, reimbursement, documentation, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Promote resident safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

• Current state license, certification, or registration as a PTA, as applicable.

• Knowledge of Medicare, therapy documentation, and reimbursement requirements preferred.

• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

• Dependable, organized, compassionate, and patient-focused.

• Commitment to providing safe, high-quality therapeutic care.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the shift.

• Ability to safely lift, carry, and support up to 50 pounds , as required.

• Ability to assist residents with transfers, mobility activities, and therapeutic exercises.

• Ability to manage the physical and emotional demands of patient care.

• Comfortable working in a clinical and skilled nursing environment.
