Driver Helper

Job Description

Pro Resources is seeking a Driver Helper for a client in Middlebury, IN. The Driver Helper will assist with the safe, efficient, and humane loading of live ducks onto trucks for transport while working closely with the trucking team and farm personnel. This position plays an important role in ensuring animal welfare standards and safety procedures are followed throughout the loading process. Shift and Compensation

• Monday-Friday 1:30 AM-12 PM
• Pay : $20 / hour

Job Duties

• Assist in rounding up and guiding ducks from pens to the loading area.
• Help set up and operate loading equipment under supervision.
• Safely and gently handle ducks to minimize stress and injury.
• Ensure proper placement of ducks in transport crates or cages.
• Work collaboratively with drivers and other helpers to maintain a steady workflow.
• Clean and sanitize crates, equipment, and the loading area as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and report any issues to supervisors.
• Follow all plant rules and regulations when in the processing plant
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and high standards in employee performance and safety.
• Understand and follow our animal welfare policy

Background Profile

• Not afraid of heights - comfortable working on top of trucks and ramp.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds.
• Understand and practice good Animal Welfare
• Learn and understand duck behavior and how to move them efficiently
• Have effective communication skills to work with other employees and producers.
