It offers preconstruction, design, purchasing, and installation of mechanical, electrical, and process scopes of work. The Role We Want You For As a Project Manager with SEI, you will be based on the construction project site. You will lead the project staff in overall execution, quality, safety, and schedule across various scopes, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and other trades related to building and process systems on complex projects nationwide. These responsibilities cover the full life cycle of the project—including planning, construction, startup, testing, commissioning, and turnover—emphasizing self‑perform execution of respective scopes. The Specifics of the Role Establish and execute the budget, timeline, quality control plan, and overall project execution plan. Coordinate with Project Superintendent on the development of a project site logistics plan. Manage the project permit procedure. Oversee the preparation of installation for self‑perform and subcontracted scopes. Contract management for installation subcontractors. Manage the subcontractor buyout process. Review POs and negotiate terms. Communicate project expectations to the field operations team. Assist the Superintendent in managing self‑perform and subcontracted scopes. Maintain understanding of the Clayco/Owner contract. Enforce the owner agreement requirements at the jobsite. Oversee the submittal, change order, and pay‑request process. Participate in developing a Project Code of Accounts with project team and preconstruction services. Oversee project cost control and cost reporting, including general conditions, equipment, materials, and installation. Assist in generating project costs and Job Cost Reports. Contribute to analyzing and forecasting quarterly Total Cost Projection reports. Set up progress/productivity tracking systems and review updates, providing feedback and direction based on trends and data analytics. Coordinate personnel and resources, including supervising site staff. Monitor project labor. Develop, update, and maintain the project schedule. Initiate jobsite mobilization, including temporary facilities, site personnel, and processes. Monitor and record training of all staff personnel. Report and track expediting of materials/equipment. Set up equipment status tracking. Set up material tracking. Expedite deliveries to meet schedule. Assist preconstruction services in bidding projects. Implement applicable safety, EEO, and affirmative action programs. Participate in the project’s quality process. Contribute to schedule and project close‑out processes. Manage design trades. Oversee accountability for schedule, coordination, and document control. Manage all owner coordination and communication. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field preferred. 6‑10 years of experience managing construction projects ($25+ million), ideally design‑build. Strong project safety record and commitment to safety and quality. Strong understanding of productivity tracking and industry‑standard production rates. Previous experience in set‑up, budget planning, buyout, and cost reporting. Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, and technology. Previous experience leading a successful project management team. Creative and results‑oriented with a sense of urgency. Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and use multi‑floor scaffolding. Ability to lift objects at least 50 lbs. Some Things You Should Know This position services clients in the Southeast. Projects are nationwide; travel will be required.
