WhyThisRoleExists Asa DataEngineeratCircadiaHealth ,youwillplayacriticalroleinbuildingandmaintainingthedatainfrastructurethatpowersCircadia’sAI-drivenclinicalmonitoringplatform.Youwilldesignandoperaterobustdatapipelinesthatingest,transform,anddistributesensitivehealthcaredataoriginatingfromElectronicHealthRecord(EHR)systems,medicaldevices,andhospitalinformationsystems. ReportingdirectlytotheLeadAIEngineer,youwillworkcloselywithbackendengineers,MLengineers,clinicalteams,andcustomerintegrationpartnerstoensurereliable,secure,andcompliantflowofpatientdata—includingADTevents,conditions,medications,allergies,clinicalnotes,andvitalsigns. YourworkwilldirectlyenableCircadia’spredictiveanalyticsandmachinelearningmodelsthatidentifyearlysignsofclinicaldeterioration,helpingcliniciansintervenesoonerandimprovepatientoutcomes.Thisisahands-onrolewhereproduction-gradedataengineering,reliability,andhealthcarecompliancearenon-negotiable. What You’ll Do Data Pipeline & Integration Development Design,build,andmaintainscalabledatapipelinestoingesthealthcaredatafromcustomerEHRsystemsandhospitaldatabases. Developintegrationsusing: RESTAPIsandwebhook-drivenworkflows Databaselogshippingandchangedatacapture(CDC)mechanisms,including MicrosoftSQLServer–basedsystems Transform,validate,andnormalizeincomingclinicaldatabeforeloadingitintoCircadia’s MySQL and Snowflake environments. Ensurepipelinesarerobust,fault-tolerant,andcapableofhandlinglargedatavolumes. Healthcare Data & EHR Integrations Integrateandmanagehealthcaredatadomainsincluding: Admissions,Discharges,Transfers(ADT) Conditions,medications,allergies Clinicalnotesandprogressnotes Vitalsignsandphysiologicalmeasurements Workwithhealthcareinteroperabilitystandardsandprotocolssuchas: HL7v2 FHIR Partnerwithcustomertechnicalteamstosupportonboarding,troubleshooting,andongoingdatareliability. Data Platforms & Warehousing TakeownershipofCircadia’soperationaldatabasesandanalyticaldatawarehouses. Designschemasandtransformationsthatsupportbothreal-timeapplicationneedsanddownstreamanalyticsandMLworkloads. Optimizeperformance,cost,andscalabilitywithin Snowflake and MySQL . Cloud Deployment & Operations Deployandoperatedatapipelinesandservicesin AWS . Implementmonitoring,logging,alerting,andoperationaldashboardsfordataworkflows. Supportproductionreliability,incidentresponse,andcontinuousimprovementofdatasystems. Security, Compliance & Data Quality Ensurealldatapipelinesmeethealthcaresecurityandprivacyrequirements,including HIPAA and SoC2 . ApplybestpracticesforhandlingProtectedHealthInformation(PHI),includingaccesscontrol,encryption,andauditlogging. Maintaincleardocumentationofdataflows,transformations,andoperationalprocesses. Collaboration & Enablement WorkcloselywithDataScienceandMLteamstosupport: Modeltrainingandevaluation Featuregenerationanddatalabelingworkflows Collaboratewithbackendengineerstodevelopinternaltoolingfordataingestion,validation,andmonitoring. ParticipateinarchitecturediscussionstoensuredatasystemsscalewithCircadia’sgrowth. Must‑Have Qualifications 5+yearsofexperiencein DataEngineering ,BackendEngineering,oracloselyrelatedrole. Strongproficiencyin Python fordatapipelineandbackenddevelopment. Strongproficiencyin SQL . Hands-onexperiencewith MySQL and Snowflake ,includingschemadesignandperformanceoptimization. Experienceintegratingdatafrom MicrosoftSQLServer ,includinglogshippingorCDC-styleapproaches. Experiencebuildinghigh-throughputdatapipelinesfromingestionthroughtransformationandstorage. Experiencedeployingandoperatingproductionsystemsinamajorcloudprovider( AWSpreferred ). FamiliaritywithAPIs,webhooks,andevent-drivenarchitectures. Experienceworkingwithsensitiveorregulateddata. Nice‑to‑Haves ExperienceintegratingwithEHRsystems(e.g.,Epic,HomecareHomease,PointClickCare). Familiaritywithhealthcaredatastandardssuchas HL7 and FHIR .
