Responsibilities Under general supervision, exercise sound judgementto: Assist with preparing and processing client invoices andbilling statements Review and evaluate billing information to ensure accuracy,completeness, and adherence to company guidelines Help address billing issues and respond to customer questionspromptly Contribute to the rollout and optimization of automated billingtools and workflows Work closely with teams across the organization to keep billingoperations running smoothly Keep well-organized records of all billing activities andrelated documentation Coordinate proactively with RMC's Grants and Contracts Officersto ensure timely and accurate cash draws, financial reporting, andreceivables management Support audits, internal reviews, and closeout processes byproviding reconciliations, documentation, and other requiredmaterials Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in theUniversity's financial and research systems (e.g., PeopleSoft,eAward, or comparable platforms) Contribute to process improvements by identifying recurringissues, proposing solutions, and participating in training ortesting for new tools and workflows Provide strong customer service and cultivate positiverelationships with internal and external partners while ensuringfiscal integrity and compliance Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a commitmentto collaboration, consistency, and continuous learning Identify and apply payments to appropriate projects in anaccurate and timely manner Ensure open AR items are collected in a timely manner Minimum Qualifications EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher educationcan be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience(Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related workexperience). Department may hire employee at one of the following joblevels: Billing Analyst, I: Requires a bachelor's (orequivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or amaster's (or equivalency) degree. Billing Analyst, II: Requires a bachelor's (orequivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years ofdirectly related work experience. Billing Analyst, III: Requires a bachelor's (orequivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years ofdirectly related work experience. Preferences Demonstrated knowledge of fundamental accounting principles andproficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial reconciliations, andtransaction review. Familiarity with PeopleSoft or comparable ERP/financial systemsand comfort with data queries and reports. Proven ability to analyze complex financial data, identifyissues, and propose solutions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the abilityto provide clear, concise guidance to non-financial audiences.
