Senior Software Developer

The Senior Software Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain large-scale multi-client web applications using Java and Oracle or SQL databases. This role involves translating technical specifications into functional software, troubleshooting, and collaborating across teams throughout the software development lifecycle. The position demands strong expertise in RESTful web services, microservice architecture, and security protocols, with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions. Responsibilities:

• Translate technical system specifications into tested, working applications.
• Develop detailed programming specifications, write and generate code, compile data-driven programs, maintain, and conduct unit tests.
• Resolve and troubleshoot technical issues during software use, including implementation, conversion, and migration support.
• Collaborate with IT professionals throughout the software development life cycle.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document applications using structured methodologies and object-oriented programming.
• Conduct impact assessments on Oracle E-Business application customizations and extensions.
• Provide post-implementation support and resolve technical issues.
• Participate in design walkthrough sessions and quality assurance oversight.
• Work closely with functional and technical teams to meet deadlines and project goals.

• 10+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale multi-client web applications.
• 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience with Oracle or SQL databases.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with REST API and RESTful WebServices.
• Strong knowledge of microservice architecture and core architecture principles.
• Experience with security gateways and protocols including JWT, OAuth 2.0, and SSL certificates.
• Proficiency in object-oriented coding practices, design patterns, refactoring, and clean code.
• Experience with relational and hierarchical database technologies and query languages.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience using Azure DevOps and Agile methodologies.

• Knowledge and experience with rapid application development (RAD) methodologies.
• Experience with middleware, gateways, and Oracle Data Integrator.
• Experience in Oracle E-Business modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Accounts Payable, and Inventory.
• Experience with SQL tuning, partition tables, data warehouse, ETL methodologies, and OBIEE.
• Experience with Java and Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF).
• Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related standards.
• Public sector development standards and processes.

• Must be able to work 5 days onsite.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive timelines.
• Demonstrated adaptability to change and strong problem-solving orientation.

• Standard weekday work schedule with onsite presence required five days per week.
