Accounting Associate

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:The Accounting Associate is responsible for assisting the accounting department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Performs a variety of duties to support daily accounting operations and departmental activities.Enters financial data into the accounting system and verifies the accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation.Assists with accounts receivable transactions, including recording receipts, maintaining customer records, and processing related documentation.Prepares account reconciliations and supporting schedules as assigned.Prepares journal entries as assigned and maintains accurate general ledger records.Assists with accounts payable processing, including verifying vendor invoices against purchase orders and supporting documentation, processing payments, and resolving discrepancies.Maintains organized accounting records and supporting documentation.Assists with month-end closing activities and the preparation of financial reports.Performs other related duties as assigned.COMPETENCIES1. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stoop, as necessary.
