Registered Respiratory Therapist - Part Time - NICU

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT-CRT) to provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to in‑patients and out‑patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric ages. The RT-CRT will set up equipment, monitor patients, wean oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and EKGs, deliver intermittent therapy, assist with artificial airway changes, and provide services as ordered by a physician according to established policies and procedures. Responsibilities Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure. Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient. Educates patients and co‑workers on procedures and treatment plans. Performs diagnostic procedures and provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patient served in the assigned area. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, method of introduction, adapting explanation of services or procedures, requesting permissions and communication style. Other related duties as required. Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor’s Degree preferred). No prior work experience required. Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice. Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) to be obtained within 90 days of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) to be obtained within 90 days of hire. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Computer skills for data entry and retrieval of information. Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Proficiency with Windows‑style applications, various software packages specific to the role, and keyboard use. Strong interpersonal skills. Physical & Environmental Demands The role involves frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 100 pounds, with light to medium daily activity. The job may require stooping, bending, reaching, and grabbing with arms and hands; sitting or standing for prolonged periods; and traveling throughout and between facilities. A flexible work schedule (24/7, weekends, holidays, on‑call availability) is required. Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste may occur in a patient care area.
