Network Infrastructure Operations Manager

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Infrastructure Operations Manager to support our client located in Washington, DC. The Network Infrastructure Operations Manager will lead day-to-day field operations for campus-wide network cabling upgrades, overseeing deployment of fiber‑optic and copper infrastructure. This role serves as the on‑site operational lead, managing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with technical and security standards, and partnering closely with program leadership to deliver mission‑critical infrastructure. Responsibilities Lead daily field operations for backbone and horizontal fiber‑optic and copper cabling replacement across campus environments Direct subcontractor performance and conduct QA inspections to ensure adherence to project drawings, standards, and security protocols Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to align execution with project schedules, track progress, and mitigate risks Coordinate personnel, equipment, and materials to maintain deployment efficiency and minimize downtime Ensure compliance with BICSI standards, NEC requirements, and federal telecommunications specifications Oversee testing and validation, including Tier 1/Tier 2 fiber testing and copper certification, ensuring accurate as‑built documentation Manage communication closet modernization, including cable management, grounding, and labeling best practices Enforce strict adherence to security protocols within classified environments, including escort procedures and material controls Qualifications Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance required at time of hire; ability to pass YW clearance 5–7+ years of experience in network infrastructure deployment, including fiber and copper systems 3+ years of leadership or operations management experience overseeing technical teams or field operations Proven experience supporting projects within classified or secure government/defense facilities Strong technical expertise in fiber optics (single-mode, multi-mode, splicing, OTDR testing) and structured cabling systems Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and enforce compliance with Statements of Work (SOW) Familiarity with secure infrastructure requirements such as SCIF operations and network isolation protocols (e.g., PDS) Compensation Salary Range: Competitive based on experience Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Paid Maternity Leave, Military Reserve Pay Offset #J-18808-Ljbffr
