Inpatient Psychiatrist Opportunity At Mount Sinai South Nassau

Mount Sinai South Nassau (MSSN) is seeking Inpatient Psychiatrists to be based in Oceanside, New York. MSSN's Department of Psychiatry is a vibrant community of dedicated and collaborative professionals committed to discovering the causes of, and better treatments for, mental illness and substance use disorders. For over 30 years, our team of behavioral health experts has offered care for people with a sudden, short-term crisis as well as ongoing mental health conditions. The ideal candidate will provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment in an inpatient unit for adult patients ensuring appropriate medication management and longitudinal care.

Opportunities for formal teaching and clinical research at the Icahn School of Medicine

Includes an academic appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at a rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Provide psychiatric care to patients on the inpatient behavioral health unit, with opportunities to manage a broad range of acute psychiatric conditions.

Participate in the hospital's Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Service, providing psychiatric consultation to patients across medical and surgical services as well as the emergency department.

Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, social work, and other clinical professionals to promote integrated, patient-centered care.

Provide direct psychiatric evaluation, assessment and treatment

Provide evidence-based care to adult patients in our inpatient unit

Complete documentation and billing in a timely fashion as required by compliance

Ensure compliance with standards of regulatory agencies

Assist in providing adequate and appropriate service coverage which includes assisting the inpatient Director in the provision of continuous patient care and documentation

Emergency room and hospital psychiatric consultations, treatment and disposition as required

MD or D.O. from an accredited School of Medicine

License to practice medicine in the State of New York

Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry

Compensation ranges from 255K to 290K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
