Job Description

An established estate planning and probate is looking for a Paralegal to join its growing team. For more than 20 years, this established estate planning and probate firm has built a loyal, growing client base serving everyday families and individuals nearing retirement across Southeast Louisiana. This is a full-time, in-office position working closely with the firm's attorney. The role covers document production and estate planning support, opening new client files, starting drafts, and communicating directly with clients throughout their matters. Candidates who have direct experience in this area of law or hold a notary commission are a strong plus, though not required.

Responsibilities

Support document production for estate planning and succession matters
Open new client files and help move cases through the firm's process from intake forward
Begin drafting documents under attorney supervision
Communicate directly with clients to gather information and keep them updated
Serve as a notary on firm documents where applicable

Qualifications

Experience in estate planning is a plus, but candidates with paralegal experience in other practice areas are welcome to apply
Comfortable working with technology and firm systems, including case management and document platforms
Louisiana notary commission preferred, not required
A self-starter who takes initiative, stays on top of a busy caseload without needing to be chased, and pulls their weight as part of a small, close-knit team
Comfort in a fast-paced environment with real deadlines and real systems in place

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $55,000–$65,000/year, based on experience
PTO (Paid Time Off)
Numerous paid holidays, including a full office closure between Christmas and New Year's Day
Health insurance with 70% of the premium covered by the firm; optional vision and dental add-ons available
401(k) with employer match
Continuing education costs covered as needed
