Psychometric Technician - Fort Campbell, KY

Job Summary HJF is seeking a Psychometric Technician to administer, score, and manage psychological and neuropsychological tests while ensuring standardized procedures for assessing cognitive, emotional and behavioral functions. Key duties include conducting initial screening of new subjects, scheduling subjects for testing and intake evaluation, preparing test materials and managing inventories, maintaining precise records, observing client behavior during testing, scoring tests and sometimes providing preliminary data for reports, all while upholding strict confidentiality and collaborating with the clinical team. This position will support the Army Intrepid Spirit Center and the Neurofeedback and Cognitive Rehabilitation Programs located on the campus of Fort Campbell. The Henry M. Responsibilities Test Administration Conduct standardized tests following precise protocols. Administer and score neuropsychological tests on research subjects. Administer clinical assessment/standardized intake instruments, independently develop and employ alternate or modified assessment instruments/strategies as necessary. Conduct electroencephalograms on patients participating in the project. Review health records for conditions that could affect EEG procedures, explain the procedure to patients, and ensure patient comfort. Maintain EEG equipment; sharpen, clean, and sterilize electrodes. Testing Support Conduct initial screening evaluation of new research subjects. Schedule testing/intake evaluations and escort subjects as necessary. Maintain testing inventories. Assist in research activities including data collection, data analysis, and data interpretation; train and write SOPs; and follow protocols to perform testing. Client/Team Interactions Provide clear instructions and manage patient behavior during sessions. Report observations to supervising psychologist(s). Maintain a close liaison with neuropsychology disciplines at the various medical centers. Data Management Enter data accurately and organize results. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor, including attendance of and participation in required training for the role. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related behavioral science. Minimum of 0‑2 years experience required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Attention to detail and accuracy; ability to follow strict procedures. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; basic knowledge of counseling skills for eliciting cooperation from difficult research subjects. Knowledge of psychological assessment principles. Ability to adapt to change when evaluating subjects with different disabilities during complex testing modalities. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Position requires obtaining and maintaining a T1/Public Trust background check. Physical Capabilities Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs. Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods. Work Environment This position will take place primarily in a medical hospital setting. Compensation The annual salary range for this position is $22.16‑$28.85.
