Research Associate

Position - Research Associate – Vaccine Research & Development (GLP Laboratory) Location – Pearl River, NY Contract – 6 Months with a possibility of extension Role Summary Laboratory-based position within the Vaccine Research and Development – Analytical GLP laboratory group. Perform routine sample testing and assay verification, and qualification studies in support of early vaccine GLP toxicology studies. Assays include Immunoassays (MSD, ELISA, Hamilton), spectroscopic techniques (e.g., UV-Vis), and standard analytical separation techniques (FA, HPLC). Responsibilities: Perform analytical method qualification/verification and routine sample testing in support of GLP release and stability of early phase vaccine candidates. Prepare samples, set up and run instruments, and analyze data. Document experiments, analyze data, and provide conclusions obtained from sample testing contemporaneously in a notebook as directed. Execute assay verification and qualification studies for GLP assays used in the release and routine analysis of vaccine candidates, with guidance. Draft and revise laboratory methods and reports, with guidance. Support assay training and transfer of methods. Plan daily workflow to complete the tasks/experiments outlined by the supervisor. Perform job responsibilities in compliance with GLP requirements, where applicable. Contribute and participate in general laboratory maintenance activities, including maintenance of equipment and managing laboratory waste. Qualifications: BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline plus 2 or more years of related work experience, or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 0–2 years of experience. Experience in bioassays (MSD, PCR-based techniques, Slot Blot), spectroscopic techniques (UV-VIS), and separation-based analytical techniques (HPLC-UV, HPLC-CAD) is preferred.
