Our team has assisted clients in a variety of industries to identify, document and sustain federal and state credits through a comprehensive understanding of their business operations. Highly preferred to be connected to a Baker Tilly office.You will enjoy this role if:You would like to work directly with CFO’s, owners and tax directors from the middle market and Fortune 500 companies to help them increase cash flow, reduce tax liability and optimize investment in new technologyYou thrive in opportunities to hone your technical skills and will enjoy working with a variety of clients that present exposure to unique technical challengesYou crave a leadership opportunity to help build a fast growing, entrepreneurial C&I practice who is also down-to-earth and thrives in collaborationYou want to be part of a firm that values specialty tax practices and is invested in your success, providing the resources and support for you to grow now, for tomorrowWhat you’ll do:Be a trusted advisor to middle market clients by providing strategic tax credit consulting services that includes:Work with other industry experts to document eligibility and qualification of clients for certain federal and state statutory and negotiated credits and incentivesIdentify purchasers of federal and state tax credits able to be transferredClose tax credit transactions along with mitigating risk to tax credit purchasersResearch and draft technical memoranda related to tax credit mattersSupport industry experts with tax technical issuesDevelop industry thought leadership including writing internal and external articles and preparing internal and external presentationsDevelop an understanding of each client’s business and become a functional expert in the relevant technical areaAssist with managing client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are metUtilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with colleagues, clients and the communityCoordinate with C&I leadership to drive opportunities through existing and prospective clients and be part of further building and training the teamInvest in your professional development individually and through participation in firm wide learning and development programsAct as a career advisor to seniors, managers and senior managersReview work prepared by Managers and Senior Managers professionals and work with Managing Directors and Partners on client optimization strategiesQualifications4-year degree requiredCPA, EA or CMI certification requiredMinimum of Twelve (12)+ year(s) of work experience in Tax C&I consulting, preferably federal and/or state statutory credits, including those related to the Inflation Reduction Act, CHIPS Act, Opportunity Zones and Work Opportunity Tax Credit or other equivalent required3+ year(s) of management experience, mentoring and counseling team members is desiredAbility to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding applicable strategies, see the "big picture" as well as the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projectsEligibility to work in the U.S., without sponsorship, highly preferredPrior success in leading key business development, project delivery and practice development activities preferredDemonstrate success to the firm around practice development, providing thought leadership and meeting target sales goals by having an established network and participating in various market facing activities, such as industry presentations, webcasts, professional networking events, etc.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be a highly motivated self-starter and have experience in managing multiple client engagementsCreative problem solving and research skillsThe pay rate ranges for this position are listed below. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location.
